She and business partner, Tina Coady, now run Hunt & Coady Ltd, a company which organises a variety of trade tastings and the annual Argentina Wine Awards competition in Mendoza. Jane spends several months of the year in Italy where she produces olive oil at her renovated farmhouse in Umbria.<\/span><img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058ed-MassimilianoJacobacci_justinetrickett_5569.jpg"><h2>Massimiliano Jacobacci DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Massimiliano Jacobacci was immersed in the world of fine wine while growing up, as both his father and grandfather were respected Oenologists. He studied Biology in his home town of Rome, and then after serving as an officer in the Italian navy, he arrived in London. Intrigued by the changing palates of the city, Massimiliano joined a new generation of young chefs and cooked professionally for three years before returning to his roots in the wine industry. Inspired by the Hemingway novel, he set up \u00e2\u0080\u0098A Moveable Feast\u00e2\u0080\u0099, running wine tasting dinners and consulting for food and wine dot coms. In 2004, Massimiliano founded FortyFive10\u00c2\u00b0 to import some of Italy\u00e2\u0080\u0099s finest and terroir specific wines, focusing on wholesale and retail markets.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058de-Luciana_Lynch_dwwa2012_JTrickett_2627.jpg"><h2>Luciana Lynch DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Luciana Lynch held senior positions at companies including Hedges & Butler, Findlater Matta, Remy Associ\u00c3\u00a9s and Enotria before setting up her own business and consultancy in the late 1980s. Her entire career has seen her engage in selling and sourcing wines, especially from Italy, although she has also been involved in wine education. She is now retired, after a wine career spanning 35 years.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/000005890-DanieleCernilli_justinetrickett_5635.jpg"><h2>Daniele Cernilli DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Daniele Cernilli was born in Rome and graduated with a Masters in Philosophy. In 1979 he began his career in the wine trade at Vini & Liquori, a monthly magazine, before going on to co-found what would become the annual <em>Gambero Rosso Vini d\u00e2\u0080\u0099Italia<\/em> in 1987. Daniele has held various editorial positions, including Editor-at-Large of <em>Gambero Rosso<\/em> magazine and <em>Wine Travel Food<\/em>, and in 1988 he was named Editor-in-Chief of <em>Vini d\u00e2\u0080\u0099Italia<\/em> (also published in English as Italian Wines), where he directed the tastings of wines entered from all over Italy \u00e2\u0080\u0093 from a few hundred in the first edition to over 18,000 in the 2010 edition. In 1999, Daniele started writing for Rai Sat\/Gambero Rosso Channel and, in 2009, he was made Editor-in-Chief of the programme. Daniele has consulted for the Associazione Italiana Sommelier and the Worldwide Sommelier Association, and is currently working on his own Italian & English web magazine, <a href="http:\/\/www.DoctorWine.it" target="_blank">DoctorWine.it<\/a>.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/000005881-Bruno_Besa_dwwa2012_JTrickett_2728.jpg"><h2>Bruno Besa DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Originally from Friuli, Bruno Besa has been living in London since 1986. After almost 20 years working in hotels and restaurants, he founded Astrum Wine Cellars in 2001, along with long term friends and former colleagues Max Folli and Stefano Benato from Stafano Cavallini Restaurant at the Halkin hotel in Belgravia. Bruno is currently Managing Director of the company, representing around 50 wineries and distilleries from Italy and Central Europe.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000586b-AndyHowardMW_justinetrickett_5418.jpg"><h2>Andy Howard MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Andy Howard MW has over 30 years experience as a buyer at Marks & Spencer. Within the wine category he was responsible for Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire, Italy, North and South America, South Africa, Portugal, England, Port & Sherry. Andy became a MW in September 2011, following his MW dissertation on the UK wine trade\u00e2\u0080\u0099s attitude to Premier-Cru Chablis. His key areas of expertise are Burgundy and Bordeaux but, from his buying experience, he has a great respect for the wines of Chile, Argentina and South Africa. Andy lives in London but also has a house in Gaillac, where he made wine for 6 vintages. Closer to home, he has chaired the judging at the annual SEVA awards for the past 7 years and sits on the Plumpton College Curriculum Advisory Panel. Andy has recently retired from M&S to focus on consultancy through his new business \u00e2\u0080\u0093 Vinetrades.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058e5-Marcia_Waters_MW_dwwa2012_JTrickett_2732.jpg"><h2>Marcia Waters MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Marcia Waters MW works for The Oxford Wine Company, consults to the trade and is Chair of the Education and Examination Board at the Institute of Masters of Wine. She became a Master Of Wine herself in 1990, and in the past Marcia has worked as a buyer for Victoria Wine and Tesco, run the UK office of Vergelegen and Boschendal, as well as working for Rothschild Wine at Waddesdon Manor.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/000005921-SebastianPayneMW_justinetrickett_5550.jpg"><h2>Sebastian Payne MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Sebastian Payne MW joined the wine trade in 1970 at Fred May, a shipper specialising in the wines of France, Germany and Hungary. Three years later he joined The Wine Society as Promotions Manager, responsible for publications, and in 1977 he passed his MW. Sebastian was appointed Chief Buyer in 1985, has travelled to all of the world's major wine regions, and is a Chevalier dans l'Ordre du M\u00c3\u00a9rite Agricole. In 1995, he served as Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine, and in 1996 he was Chairman of the Masters of Wine Examiners. Having stepped down as Chief Buyer, Sebastian remains an integral part of The Wine Society\u00e2\u0080\u0099s buying team and currently sources its Italian, German and Eastern European wines, as well as writing for the <em>Society List<\/em> and website.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058c6-JeanReillyMW_justinetrickett_5553.jpg"><h2>Jean Reilly MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Jean Reilly MW is the Director of Wine Buying for JJ Buckley Fine Wines in Oakland, California. She has over 13 years\u00e2\u0080\u0099 experience in the wine trade, working as an educator, journalist, retail buyer, and sommelier, and has travelled to over 50 wine regions, working the harvest at wineries in Burgundy, California and New Zealand. In 2010, Jean became the USA\u00e2\u0080\u0099s 26th Master of Wine, only the fifth American woman to hold this prestigious title, and her dissertation, "US Sommelier Opinions of German Riesling", won the Quinta do Noval Outstanding Dissertation Award. Jean speaks frequently about wine on television and radio, and writes for a variety of publications, including <em>Beverage Media<\/em> and American Airlines\u00e2\u0080\u0099 <em>Latitudes<\/em> magazines. Jean is also a dedicated skydiver.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058b5-IgorRyjenkov_justinetrickett_5205.jpg"><h2>Igor Ryjenkov DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Igor Ryjenkov MW was born in Russia but moved to Canada shortly after graduating with a degree in journalism. He became interested in the wine industry after a visit to the Niagara Peninsula, which led to a period of studying, tasting and travelling. From 1995 to 2003 he completed WSET courses to Diploma level and achieved his MW, during which time he was twice awarded the North American Scholarship and also received the Henkell-Sohnlein Award for Best Dissertation. Igor "turned pro" in 1999, working first in on-trade sales for a wine agency and then as a retail product specialist with the LCBO. As seven years on the front line in Ontario\u00e2\u0080\u0099s two largest retail locations, Igor was promoted to European Wines Product Manager for Vintages, the premium wine division of the LCBO. Igor has contributed to a number of wine books and manuals, has judged in several international wine competitions, and regularly travels to the key wine producing areas for business or as a part of educational MW visits.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058a0-EmilyOHare_justinetrickett_5534.jpg"><h2>Emily O'Hare DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Emily O\u00e2\u0080\u0099Hare is the Head Sommelier and Wine Buyer at London\u00e2\u0080\u0099s River Caf\u00c3\u00a9, where she has worked for five years. Alongside Charles Metcalfe, she is the wine columnist for <em>Waitrose Kitchen<\/em> magazine, and she also writes about Italian wine and sits on the judging panels for <em>Decanter<\/em>. In May last year she won the <em>Harpers Wine & Spirit<\/em> award of "Sommelier of the Year", and in her spare time she runs a women's tasting group Women, Know Your Wine! and a wine-focused pop-up restaurant, <a href="http:\/\/www.whizzbangpop.com" target="_blank">whizzbangpop.com<\/a>.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000591d-SaraBacchiori_justinetrickett_5596.jpg"><h2>Sara Bacchiori DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Born in Perugia, Italy, Sara Bachiorri didn't initally consider a career in wine, despite her grandfather owning a vineyard and making a sweet red sparkling wine from Canaiolo. Instead she studied and worked as an accountant, moving into hospitality when she became bored of the office job. In 2007, Sara acheived her professional Sommelier qualification and worked with the Italian Institute of Sommeliers before moving to London in December 2008. Soon after she joined the team at Maze, and then Maze Grill, before becoming Assistant Head Sommelier at the Michelin-starred Glasshouse Restaurant in Kew a year later. In April 2012 Sara was promoted to Head Sommelier. In January this year she was awarded the WSET Champagne Academy Scholarship for high achievement at the WSET Advanced level.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000592f-Theresa_Paopao_dwwa2012_JTrickett_2999.jpg"><h2>Theresa Paopao DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Theresa Paopao hails from the small town of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. She left island life to pursue a graduate degree at the Yale School of Drama in New Haven, and then moved to Boston where she fell in love with the restaurant business and the world of wine. On joining the Oleana in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Theresa became serious about a career in hospitality and beverages, and after working as Manager, she went on to be their Wine Director and General Manager. In 2010, she joined the New York Momofuku team as Wine Director, a role which took her to Ontario to open their new spaces in Toronto last autumn, and Theresa is now back in Boston working with Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer at Toro and Clio, and prepping to return to the Big Apple to open Toro NYC for them later this year.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058e2-MadelineStenwrethMW_justinetrickett_5352.jpg"><h2>Madeline Stenwreth MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Madeleine Stenwreth MW is based in Sweden and consults globally to high profile wine producers as well as leading importing companies across the Nordic market. Her focus is on product development, blending, quality and style strategy in relation to the requirements of specific target markets. She is also an appreciated coach and mentor for brand and product managers, a WSET Diploma lecturer, and a speaker at international seminars. In 2008 Madeleine became an MW and received the Quinta do Noval Award for her dissertation \u00e2\u0080\u009cThe effect of altitude on Malbec in Mendoza". Prior to setting up her consultancy, Madeleine worked as Quality & Product Development Manager for Nordic wine importer, Prime Wine Group, as Wine Buyer for Systembolaget, the Swedish alcohol retailing monopoly, as Marketing Manager for Wines of South Africa, and in various managerial F&B roles for 5-star Relais & Ch\u00c3\u00a2teaux.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058aa-GerdStepp_justinetrickett_5691.jpg"><h2>Gerd Stepp DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Gerd Stepp\u00e2\u0080\u0099s family has been growing grapes in the Pfalz for generations and he himself has been in the wine trade for 25 years. For 10 of those years, Gerd was a Winemaker for Marks & Spencer and has worked in Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Italy and the UK. In 2009, Gerd set up a winery at the site of Stepp Family Vineyards, where he now makes wine. He also consults through WeinWerk on various wine-related matters.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/0000058ec-MaryGormanMW_justinetrickett_5808.jpg"><h2>Mary Gorman MW DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Born and educated in Ireland but now living in New York, Mary Gorman MW is an independent wine consultant with a major focus on education and business strategy. She is also the wine columnist for lifestyle blog and website <em>Apartment Therapy<\/em>, speaks at seminars and conferences, and holds tastings for both private and corporate clients. Mary decided to follow her passion for wine in 2002, and in 2011 she became a Master of Wine (winning the Vina Errazuriz Award for excellence in the Business of Wine exam paper) and is currently a member of the Institute\u00e2\u0080\u0099s North American Education committee, as well as sitting on the board for the Society of Wine Educators. Prior to 2002, Mary worked for 17 years in the fields of international marketing, business development and management consulting.
