Tasting: St. Aubin 2011

 Hefty oaky nose. Rich and plump, but also a touch heavy and lacking in freshness. There is acidity here but it has trouble cutting through the thick fruit and the overlay of oak. Long but burly, toasty finish.

 Quite sappy and a bit fruit gummy in the mouth. Seems less harmonious than some.

Fullish lemon yellow, good expression of yellow and stone fruits on the nose, more structure than usual from St. Aubin, quite ripe and honeyed, will be impressive, but the alcohol seems high.
