Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

By far the best of the Pipers River aromas; true Pinot, albeit clearly well into middle age, and drying a little. Deep, rather inky flavours, and the oak is still clearly visible which it really shouldn’t be at this stage.

Juicy, luscious, savoury and spicy. There is some sharpness on this which I cannot fathom, especially at this age.

Developed with notes of vanilla oak and white truffle. Silky tannins, refreshing acidity and developed fruit. Long and elegant, with spicy, peppery aftertaste.
