Carelle sous la Chapelle

Score

Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Ripe red fruit and mineral nose. Lean, edgy palate with a firm dry tannin framing a limited fruit flavour; not bad but not much to this for a 1er Cru designation. Finishes fairly brief – overall rather lean and charmless for Volnay.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Good medium red, light rim. Quite fragrant nose with nice expression of summer fruits, good smoothness and ripeness on the palate, quite good depth of fruit and quite forward and good for the mid-term.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Lovely perfumed nose with a hint of green, confirmed on the palate. Fine tannins, good fruit density and fine tannic structure; quite elegant and long. Fruit slightly muted on medium-long, fine finish.
