Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Light, sweet, red fruit nose. A light red fruit flavour dominated by a dry tannin texture; slight, dry, edgy wine with little charm, ripeness or flesh to it, finishes dry and brief, especially for 1er Cru; far too much tannin for the limited fruit.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Good young colour, finely expressed red fruits on the nose and these continue on the palate, good precision, elegance and depth, already quite forward but also very Volnay in style, good for early to mid-term drinking.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Hint of volatility on lifted red fruit nose. Slightly cooked fruit on palate, with quite aggressive tannins and disjointed acidity. Dense, lots of weight, and a decent, long finish.
