Tesco is listing a number of Bordeaux wines at various price points this winter, but my pick of them all is this Margaux. At £22 it's one of the pricier bottles but if you want to indulge this is a great buy. Aged for up to 18 months in 60% new oak, it has tempting aromas of black fruits and violets. In the mouth it's fleshy and mouthfilling, with spicy cedar and some wild herbs alongside the black fruits, liquorice and velvety tannins. If you want to save a fiver, pick up the Tesco Finest St-Emilion Grand Cru 2015, which has a sheen of vanilla-laden new oak with supple red and black fruits.
