Tesco, Finest Saint-Chinian, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2022

This Languedoc own label is a firm favourite with the Decanter team. Tesco is still on the 2022 vintage, which doesn't have quite the fresh appeal that it did when we tasted it a year ago, but the wine still stands out for its juicy dark fruit – forest fruits and plums – smokiness, and hint of herbs and pine needles. Part aged in old oak for six months.
