The Sancerre 2021 harvest was particularly difficult, and yields were considerably lower than a normal year, so the Majestic buying team has looked further afield for its Loire Sauvignon Blanc offerings, bringing in this new wine to the range. The winegrowing region of the Touraine is around 170km further west of Sancerre and covers 17 individual AOCs, but the all-encompassing AOC of Touraine covers a large proportion of the entire vineyard area. The whites of Touraine AOC are made from Sauvignon Blanc, and this particular example offers gooseberry and green apple aromas with subtle notes of white blossom. The palate has some nice ripeness of fruit, showing some tropical passionfruit and mango flavours. The texture is quite creamy and round, with a tangy finish.
