An appellation since 2005, Sainte-Victoire is named after the limestone mountain ridge that lies to the north. Indeed this wine is very much of its place, with layers of garrigue and spice as well as a vegetal character showing itself with notes of tomato leaf and capsicum. A touch more acid would provide welcome backbone but all in all a curious, interesting wine.
