Château Mont-Redon, Rouge, Lirac, Rhône, France, 2017

The oak here is present, but it’s well integrated, and the Syrah is prominent in this cuvée. Not overly full-bodied or generous, this is athletic on the palate, with a good sense of freshness and focus. The alcohol is on the high side, but this spicy, racy 2017 will have plenty of fans.
