There’s still two years of ageing to go for this wine – and it’s had four years on its lees already, without racking. For the time being, it seems to be in a quiet stage, gently nourishing, entirely unreductive, purring gently, watching a rain of strawberry fall beyond the window pane. On the palate,it's complete, refined and resolved, its tannins fine-milled by comparison with the more sinewy Arioso, and its quiet fruits poised, feline and graceful. Barrel sample. Scored 92-94.
