Klaus Gundel, Magia Del Senso, Monferrato, Piedmont, 2017

A blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo matured in barriques for eight months. Plummy scents of strawberry jam, hedgerow berries and ripe raspberry are followed by a good concentration of ripe black and blue fruits. It's rich but not jammy, with a delightful herbal twist and some lifting acidity. Gentle tannins provide structure without getting in the way. Fresh, bright and ripe.
