This classy white is made from the indigenous Inzolia (aka Ansonica) variety, which is found across the west side of the island as it's used for the production of Marsala. Here, however, the high density, low yielding vines produce a standout dry version. The fruit undergoes skin contact for a few hours before fermentation, which takes place in French oak barriques. There's no malo but 12 months in very lightly toasted new French oak barrels then a further year in bottle help things to soften. Rich, woody scents of spiced apple, dried mango and white flowers lead to a textured and rounded palate riffing on creamy apricot, yellow plum, spiced apple, pineapple and dried mango. Slightly earthy and peppery, there's great balance between it's woody structure, full body and bright acidity.
