Bibbiano, Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy, 2014

Drinking Window: 2016 - 2020
The Marrochesi Marzi family have owned Bibbiano since 1865. Today the wines are made by the fifth generation, and this one is lightly oaked in large Slavonian botte for four months following vinification in cement vats, meaning Sangiovese's plush cherry, cranberry and herbal fruit shines through. This benchmark example is backed by good acidity and a firm finsh.
