Bründlmayer, Riesling Zöbinger Heiligenstein 1ÖTW Alte Reben Reserve 2015
From the natural stone terraced vineyard laid out in the 1920s, these old vines are trained in a ‘v’ shape, increasing the airflow around the leaves and reducing the threat of mildew. There is incredible intensity on the palate, with honey and baked apple flavours and a degree of juiciness that balances the subtley austere stony character. This wine retains an impressive purity of flavour and acidity, with notes of elderflower and beeswax emerging on the very long finish. This should age tremendously well.
