Maison Nicolas Perrin, Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2015
Crozes-Hermitage is by some way the largest appellation in the northern Rhône, yet only around 10% of its production is white, making it a nice surprise when you spot one on a wine merchant’s shelf or on a wine list. Founded in 2009, Nicolas Perrin represents a coming together of two great Rhône families; the Jaboulets (Nicolas) and the Perrins. Beeswax, apricot and a hint of vinyl on the nose leads into a full-textured palate with refreshing acidity. Ripe stone fruits peek through the savoury wax, white flower and citrus flavours. A beautiful wine well worth tracking down.
