Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Dense ripe fruit and new oak combination: rich, ripe, brisk and generous; plenty of fruit here, a fresh acidity and a fine firm, tannin; well constituted, complete, long term wine. Long, ripe, richly fruity wine within a very firm, long term tannin; good quality, clear 1er cru, but needing 1er cru time. Fine, complete wine which needs many years in bottle!

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Deep red, young violet rim. Quite concentrated black fruits on the nose with already some lifted fragrance, with the same fragrance appearing on the palate. Very good up-front ripeness with oak in the background and natural acidity to balance it out, already quite forward and supple, a very attractive wine for the mid-term.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Lifted, perfumed red fruit nose with a good deal of new wood. Wood also on palate, but the thick, dense, fine dark fruits – damson – matches it. Medium, fine tannin, but a little short.
