Previously Jon was lifestyle editor and wine columnist for <a href="http:\/\/www.MSNBC.com" target="_blank">MSNBC.com<\/a> and wine columnist for <em>Seattle<\/em> magazine, and has written about wine for such top publications as <em>Saveur<\/em>, <em>Food & Wine<\/em>, <em>The Art of Eating<\/em> and <em>Decanter<\/em>. His work at the <em>Chronicle<\/em> has won two James Beard Foundation Awards as well as winning numerous awards from the Association of Food Journalists. Raised in New York, Bonn\u00c3\u00a9 grew up learning about wine at an early age while working at his father\u00e2\u0080\u0099s gourmet foods and catering business. He attended Columbia University and before writing professionally about wine, he reported on everything from politics to the aviation industry for such news organizations as Court TV, <em>Newsweek<\/em> and National Public Radio. He lives in San Francisco, where he's working on a book about California wine.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000590f-PierreMansour_justinetrickett_5498.jpg"><h2>Pierre Mansour DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Pierre Mansour spent four years with Berry Bros & Rudd as duty manager of its Heathrow store after an introduction to the wine trade in 1995 with the Antique Wine Company. He completed the WSET Diploma in 1998 before joining Vinopolis as Tastings Manager, and in 2000 Pierre joined The Wine Society to oversee tastings and events, before taking on the role of Buyer in 2004. He currently buys The Society's Australian, New Zealand, Spanish, North American and Lebanese wines.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000593a-VirginiaPhilipMS_justinetrickett_5507.jpg"><h2>Virginia Philip MS DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Virginia Philip MS\u00e2\u0080\u0099s career includes a list of accolades and experience spanning more than a decade. In her 13th year at The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida, Virginia leads the beverage department for nine restaurants and bars and 14 wine lists, including the resort\u00e2\u0080\u0099s prized 1,600-selection list, which has won <em>Wine Spectator<\/em>'s Grand Award every year since its inception in 1981. In 2011, she fulfilled a lifetime dream when she opened the Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy, which offers her personal selections from around the world and weekly wine education programs. The following year, Philip received a coveted James Beard Award-nomination for Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional. She also been awarded the national title of \u00e2\u0080\u009cBest Sommelier of the United States\u00e2\u0080\u009d from the American Sommelier Association and has sat on the Board of Directors for the Court of Master Sommeliers.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/00000586c-AngelaMount_justinetrickett_5750.jpg"><h2>Angela Mount DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Angela Mount heads up online wine retail venture <a href="http:\/\/www.yourfavouritewines.com" target="_blank">yourfavouritewines.com<\/a> as Buying Director, which is owned by Dragon\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Den star Peter Jones. Also a wine industry consultant for the past four years, she works with both producers and agents to develop styles of wine and appropriate market strategy for the UK market. She is a frequent public and conference speaker, writes on wine and restaurants for <em>Flavour Magazine<\/em>, <em>Bath<\/em> and <em>Crumbs<\/em>, and is head of the judging panel for the Bath and Bristol Good Food Awards competition. Previously, Angela was Head of Wine Buying at Somerfield supermarkets, where her taste buds were famously insured for \u00c2\u00a310m.<img src="http:\/\/www.decanter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2013\/05\/000005937-VeroniqueRivest_justinetrickett_5705.jpg"><h2>Veronique Rivest DWWA 2013 Judge<\/h2>Veronique Rivest is an award-winning sommelier with over 20 years\u00e2\u0080\u0099 experience in the restaurant industry. Also a talented speaker and writer, she contributes to wine and food magazines, and is involved with television programs and radio. In March this year, Veronique represented Canada at the World\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Best Sommelier Competition in Tokyo, where she came second. Her other accolades include: Best Sommelier of Canada 2006 and 2012, Best Sommelier of the Americas 2012 and Professional Wine Woman 2007 (Wine Women Awards).
