Andrea Bricarello

Tasting: Barbera d’Alba

Quite big fat nose with lots of concentrated red currant jelly and cherry jam notes. Complex and savoury with lots of tannins and dense mouthfeel. Excellent acidity. A very expressive, seductive wine.

Stephen Brook

Tasting: Barbera d’Alba

Dense crimson plum. Broad, ripe and juicy. Medium full, soft and ripe. decent bramble fruit flavours with a hint of spice. Reasonable length and finish.

Ian D'Agata

Tasting: Barbera d’Alba

Deep purple. Almost overripe aromas and flavours of dark fruit and cocoa syrup, finishing long but with mounting dry tannins. There’s enough sweetness so the astringency probably won’t be too noticeable with food. Hint of old chewy leather at the back, so may not be for everyone.
