Tasting: Barolo 2009

Delicate and typical nose of violet, red cherries and plums. Strong and straight structure, medium body, well-integrated, slightly dry tannins and medium to long finish.

Clean and precise. Lacks a little flesh to bolster the tannic backbone. Very clean, comes across as a little skeletal. Think Modigliani, rather than Rubens.

Ripe, sweet and sour nose with positive spicy notes. Balanced toasty oak. Full, round and ripe with attractive development of blue and black fruit flavours. Decent structure with a warm and spicy finish.
