Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe

Curious nose, sour cherries with a hint of greenness. Fairly rich, has plenty of grip and even seems a touch dour, as there is too much extraction for the rather modest fruit. Quite hollow and lacks flair on the finish.

Slightly green, herbaceous nose. Better on the palate. Sweet red fruit with a backing of vanilla oak. Touch drying on the finish.

Quite robust and nicely earthy fruit on the nose. Good ripe flavours and tannins are supportive but not aggressive. Good supple texture and nice depth.
