Carr Taylor, Rose, Sussex, England, 2009

Rose

Score

83
  • Drink: 2013 - 2014

Manufacturer:

Carr Taylor

Richard Hemming

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Notably different from the Pinot-only beldns – has a soapy, floral fragrance. Highly aromatic. Not entirely successful – has a somewhat artifical tone. Well defined flavours, but more like sparkling pink Moscato than English sparkling.

Justin Howard-Sneyd

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Deep orangey pink. Sweaty, elderflowery, hedgerow nose. Relatively high dosage. An attractive style, but not really that serious

Stephen Skelton

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Very ripe fruit on the nose and palate (2009 again) and a good mouthful of soft fruit. Dosage a touch high and wine showing some signs of tiredness. Not as fresh as some of the wines.
