Yearlstone, Vintage Brut, Devon, England, 2009

Vintage Brut

  • Drink: 2013 - 2015

Richard Hemming

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Reductive, steely notes here and a rather restrained fruit. Not unattractive, but slightly lacking in fruit concentration.

Justin Howard-Sneyd

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Pale greeny gold. Tight greengage nose. Very focussed and precise, with high acidity, and lots of secondary aromas from lees ageing – this has slightly high bound sulphur which detracts from the fruit expression a little.

Stephen Skelton

Tasting: UK Sparkling

Neutral style without much force or character. From the ripe 2009 vintage, so perhaps grapes too low in acid? Finishes poorly.
