Villa Cerro, Leggermente Appassito 2015
This juicy red has benefited from the addition of some partially dried grapes (leggermente appassito translates as ‘slightly raisined’) to the fermentation, which add texture, sugars and richness. Red apple, cherry, pomegranate juice and spice aromas lead into a lightly textured palate of crisp red apple and cherry, with hints of vanilla and star anise in the background. Light and drinkable, with a delicious cranberry and pomegranate finish and silky, velvet tannins.
