Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Fresh, sweet Pinot to smell. Medium-full wine with a firmly dominating tannin. A modest, lively red fruit, of modest scope and medium length – overall a bit austere and charmless. Long term, but hardly tempting!

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Mature colour and very mature rim. Still some fruit but not much future.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Pronounced, perfumed, sweet red fruit nose with some wood. Intensely fruity on the palate, with present, medium tannins. Not especially fine, but very exuberant and appealing. Slightly hard on the medium, quite woody finish.
