Tasting: Vosne-Romanee 2010

Slightly reduced nose, but with solid cherry frruit behind it. Fairly rich and suave, but lacks a little zest and freshness, though the acidity is quite assertive. A rugged style that doesn’t show finesse but may develop more complexity with time. Moderate length.

Rich, splendid purple-garnet colour. Some reduction, fresh, still dumb fruitiness. Full-bodied, richly fruity, bright acidity, grapes not fully ripe.

A little bit of reduction on top of some lifted, dark raspberry notes. Quite vibrant underneath but the reductive element leaves a slightly metallic finish. It should grow out of this though.
