Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Very deeply coloured — but also very young. Rich, exuberant, meaty, almost a bit yeasty — not a classical Pinot nose, but who cares; its smells enticing and exciting. On the palate, this is rich, vivid, earthy, sumptuous, beautifully balanced and simply great fun to drink. It’s a Pinot that thinks it’s a Syrah, but I like it enormously.

Youthful with pronounced, fresh strawberries character. Very juicy but elegant, with refreshing acidity, marked tannins and a long, fruity aftertaste. Will develop nicely.
