Tasting: Vosne-Romanee 2010

Surprisingly dense nose, some mokka. Ripe yet shows some astringency, slightly bitter tannins, extracted and rasping. Oaky and effortful, with a lack of lift and finesse. Medium length.

one of the deepest purples;
clean, rich, ripe fruit, vibrant;
richly structured, fruity attack, good follow-through a with fresh finish, fine length.

Fine dense colour but not suspiciously deep. Fruit on the nose is quite full but not showing detail yet. Mostly red fruit but with some black cherry notes, backed by good acidity and some generous oak. Good example.
