Court of Master Sommeliers
1 Seaway Close
The Court of Master Sommeliers was established to encourage improved standards of beverage knowledge and service in hotels and restaurants. Education was then, and remains today, the Court’s charter. The first successful Master Sommelier examination was held in the United Kingdom in 1969. By April 1977, the Court of Master Sommeliers was established as the premier international examining body. It took the Court ten years to perfect its qualifications, which are recognized internationally. Over the two decades since the Court’s first examination was held, 104 candidates have earned the Master Sommelier Diploma. In the service of wine, spirits and other alcoholic beverages, the Master Sommelier Diploma is the ultimate professional credential anyone can attain worldwide.

Better Tasting – we start with the wine itself not the label. FUN BUT EDUCATIONAL – Practical and no-mythology approach suitable for all levels, from the interested beginner up to the trade professional wishing to learn properly. EXPERT TUITION – The courses are based on years of blending experience and built around the Bordeaux University tasting diploma course, and given by trained oenologist and experienced blender/winemaker Richard More. A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO WINE TASTING – Better Tasting tackles two of the most elusive aspects of wine tasting, how to really assess YOUR personal tasting skills and then how to evaluate wine without seeing the label.
