Predominantly Chenin Blanc, with 10% Chardonnay, this budget sparkler from the Loire is made using the traditional method by a Saumur-based house founded in 1851. It's an attractive wine, dry with aromas and flavours of green apple, honeysuckle and white flowers. It's a good alternative to Cava or Prosecco, offering excellent value for money. Majestic, where the wine is available in the UK, recommends it as a match for fish and chips.
