This stood out in the line-up of reds at the press tasting, an organically made Loire Cabernet Franc from limestone-rich soils, named after the skylark (Alouette) that frequents the vineyard. Unoaked with subtle lees contact, this has a joyful purity of fruit and an aromatic expressiveness, perfumed with dark, crushed black cherry and raspberry fruit, juicy and dry. Approachable, vibrant, and full of regional and varietal character. It's currently out of stock, but will be back on the shelves and online by end of June. Mix-six price: £12.50
