Fleshy, dark red fruit, some spice and good grip. Made from the Negroamaro grape in southern Italy, it tastes like a wine made somewhere sun-baked. The Lidl wine buyers are very clever when it comes to picking good-value reds that would be perfect for a barbecue. This is just £1 more expensive than the Corbières from Lidl’s summer range, but it has far more to it, and would be a better match for your steaks and sausages.
