On sale from mid-April, this delicious Californian Chardonnay from the 2016 vintage is still fresh as a daisy, concentrated, creamy and buttery, with ripe stone fruit flavours, good acidity and a toasty finish. Hanzell Vineyards farms mostly organically. The small estate favours a restrained, 'less is more' approach to winemaking, so even though this has the classic Californian profile of good body and fruit weight, it's not at all overblown and has good ageing potential too. The cooling influence of the site in the southwest Sonoma Valley helps. A treat for New World Chardonnay lovers.
