Magrez 'targets First Growths'

The Bordeaux entrepreneur, who has just sold William Pitters International to Marie Brizard for an undisclosed sum, told decanter.com that the future was in top-quality wines, adding that he had the Bordeaux First Growths in his sights.
‘I’m targeting the five top Growths. I have the means and I’m ready. But whether or not anyone else wants to sell is a different story,’ he said.
Magrez already owns Graves Cru Classé Château Pape-Clément, the most prestigious of the 32 wines in his portfolio. The 67 year-old businessman said he would also consider buying a top property in Spain, if one came on the market.
‘I won’t mention any names because you know what they are,’ he said.
Magrez, however, was keen not to distance himself from his current properties.
‘My situation suits me fine,’ he said.
