Radikon, Jakot, Friuli, Italy 2008
Stanko Radikon and son Saša have moved gradually from minimal to no added SO2 over the past decade. Jakot is Stanko’s mischievous renaming of (Tokaj) Friulano. Three months of skin contact have given this a compelling, grippy texture and accentuated, exotic aromas of jasmine tea and kumquat. Still young, the acidity is searing at themoment, but will be a real beauty in time.
