Glad to see the much deserved recognition for the lastest vintages of Pédesclaux. Couple of corrections, however, if I may. Vincent Mulliez engineered the sale of Pédesclaux to Jacky Lorenzetti who then entrusted Vincent with managing the property (just as he did two years earlier with Lilian Ladouys). Vincent owned Ch. Belle-Vue (not Bellevue) in the Haut-Médoc appellation, right next door to Giscours. Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen was part of Vincent Mulliez's team from the start and thus he did not take over management of Pédesclaux, strictly speaking, after Vincent's untimely passing at 44. He was already there. The real coup in this transaction concerns some 12 hectares of vineyards, planted at 10,000 vines/ha in 1970 and situated on the Milon plateau, that Vincent was able to acquire on Lorenzetti's behalf, much to the chagrin of Lafite and Mouton! This acquisition has played a capital role in the improvement of the Pédesclaux wines as its vineyard was in a sad state with nearly a third of the vines long since missing.
