Origin Wine, Finest* South African Pinotage 2016
Wild strawberry aromas lead into an initial bite of tart red cherry, followed by softer red fruits and some spice. The finish shows baked strawberry and vanilla. Maturation on French oak staves for six months has lent some astringency and grip. A light style, this is a good alternative to a Beaujolais cru.
