Bernard Magrez buys rosé domaine
- Wednesday 24 November 2010
Located in the Var region, halfway between Aix-en-Provence and Nice, the 12-hectare, south-facing Clos des Muraires was bought from the owners of Domaine de la Bastide Neuve.
Five hectares of the property are planted with Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan.
La Bastide Neuve has been producing a Clos des Muraires rosé priced at €14.95, as well as white and red versions which sell for €21.95.
For his inaugural vintage, Magrez plans to release 32,000 bottles of ‘haute couture’ rosé de Provence only.
Clos des Muraires will be part of Magrez’s global wine portfolio, reportedly worth €40m, which includes Bordeaux Châteaux Pape Clément and La Tour Carnet, as well as estates in Argentina, California, Chile, Japan, Portugal, Uruguay and Spain.

I drank Clos des Muraires rosé in Val Thorens last week. The rose is excellent. What are the costs shipping boxes to Les Pays Bas?
Hope to hear from you
