Decanter launches in the Apple App store
- Wednesday 7 March 2012
The new placement within iTunes, the Apple app store, and the newsstand will see Decanter magazine available either as a digital-only subscription or as an added benefit to all existing and future print subscribers.
UK residents will be able to buy single issues, a rolling-monthly subscription or an annual subscription from the iTunes store, while non-UK residents will currently only be able to buy single digital issues every month.
Once a digital issue has been purchased it will be available to read, re-read and store with as many other issues on an iTunes account, which can be accessed on multiple devices with the same log-in details.
Print subscribers, regardless of residency, will be able to authenticate all iPad editions throughout the duration of a print subscription at no extra cost. This can easily be done by downloading the Decanter app and providing subscriber details via the in-app form.
There is currently one sample issue that is free to download, as well as four back issues from 2012, plus this month's April issue to be bought or authenticated for current subscribers.
For all Decanter fans outside the UK who do not wish to receive the magazine, Zinio subscriptions remain available.
Prices vary depending on subscription: single-issue iPad edition downloads cost £4.99, while a rolling-monthly direct-debit subscription costs £3.99 and an annual subscription (UK residents only) costs £37.99.
Annual print subscriptions with iPad access at no extra cost, available worldwide, are priced £37.99.

I'm a print subscriber and downloaded the April issue and the "free" sample issue successfully, but when I tried to download any of the other offered issues the only option given to me was to buy it -- despite my print subscription. This problem persisted even when I logged off and then logged in again.
