Very attractive wine with some aromatic fruits and well-integrated oak. The palate is round and complex with lots of substance and creamy oak characters, crisp acidity. Next 5 years.

This wine displays exotic fruit and toasty oak. Full body on the palate with layers of ripe fruit, complex with a balanced acidity; good weight on the finish.

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Karia Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2006

This wine exhibits layers of ripe fruits – apricot, pear and ripe apple – with some light toasted oak. Elegant concentration on the palate, good weight with a creamy texture, balanced oak characters with some spice. Good length

Domaines Schlumberger, Pinot Gris Grand Cru Kitterlé 2006

2006 was a challenging year in Alsace but the best producers succeeded. Very expressive nose with notes of dried apricot and honey. Rich on palate, elegant oily texture supported by a fine acidity and some tropical fruit characters; great depth on the finish with an excellent balance between the sweetness and the structure. Needs more time to develop.

Elegant fruit with some dried apricot, and peachy fruit. Well balanced with crisp acidity, some almond and ripe apple characters; elegant on the finish.

Reds

Diamond Creek Vineyards, Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

This wine is showing lots of youth with primary redcurrant fruit. Very well-structured on the palate with layers of red vibrant fruits and an elegant concentration. Great length but needs time to develop.

The Vineyard Cellars

Heitz Wine Cellars, Trailside Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

This wine combines some concentrated black fruit with some chocolate and spicy notes. Fine complexity and structure with rich intense black fruit, firm tannin with spicy oak on finish. Great depth.

Skalli, Clos Poggiale, Vin de Corse Red 2005

This blend of Sangiovese (locally known as Niellucio) and Syrah has been organically cultivated. An elegant perfume with notes of raspberry and sweet spice. The palate is vibrant with a fine fruit concentration and silky tannins, toasted characters on the finish.

One of the most highly-respected negociants in Burgundy; this 1st Cru has aromas of red cherry stones. Medium body with an elegant structure, very attractive varietal characters. Will develop in few more years.

From this small, family-owned vineyard comes a spicy red number with some vibrant black fruit. It has a complex palate and is robust but with soft tannins. Rich, with some Mediterranean character, this is a perfect winter warmer.

Lot of purity on the nose, red cherry with spicy oak. Elegant concentration with some clean red fruit, a very harmonious wine.

Alpha Xinomavro, Amyndeon 2005

From this very talented producer comes this deep bright red which has rich earthy aromas, some macerated cherry and hint of pepper. Well balanced with some grapey tannin, robust with some vibrant fruit and a peppery finish. A very inviting wine.

This award-winning wine show ripe aromas of apricot and apple. This is a blend of Semillon and Assyrtiko (an indigenous white grape from Santorini). Full of flavour with good weight and layers of complexity. Ripe fruits on the finish. This is worth every penny.

Malaga used to be well-known for producing very sweet raisiny wine but few flying winemakers are experimenting and are making much more refreshing style. This Moscatel wine combines exotic fruit with dried apricot. The palate is refreshing and supported by fresh melon and marmalade characters with some cinnamon on the finish.
