Decanter put together a team of expert tasters and South American specialists to find some of the best value wines that the continent can offer.
Here, we’ve got their five best value Sauvignon Blanc wines, all from Chile, and all under £13. Many of the wines are from the Casablanca Valley, an area known for herbeceous, fruit lead Sauvignon Blanc wines thanks to its cooler climate.
The team included: Christelle Guibert, Decanter tasting director; Patricio Tapia, DWWA Regional Chair for Argentina; Dirceu Vianna Jr MW, South America’s first male master of wine; Peter Richards MW, DWWA Regional Chair for Chile; and Jane Parkinson, an award-winning wine writer.
- These wines first appeared in the October 2015 issue of Decanter. Subscribe to Decanter magazine here.
