Michael Edwards is a judge at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)
Wine writer Michael Edwards originally trained in law, reading for the Bar at Gray’s Inn in London. In 1968, he joined Laytons, representing several top estates in Burgundy and Alsace in the 1970s. Edwards has also been a restaurant reviewer, a former chief inspector of the Egon Ronay Guide, and he has specialised in Champagne and gastronomy during his 20 years as a freelance writer.
In 2010, he won the Prix Roederer for International Wine Book of the Year for his most recent book The Finest Wines of Champagne, and in January 2014, Edwards was made a Confrère of St Vincent de Vertus, the first non-Champenois to be admitted to this order. His blog, michaelbulles.blogspot.co.uk, ranges well beyond Champagne.
